industry announced today that Random House, Inc., the worlds largest
English-language general trade book publisher, will launch a PubEasy.com e-commerce web
site and join the fast-growing PubEasy.com community of booksellers and their suppliers.
The site is scheduled to go online by June 2000.
Random House, Inc., the English-language book publishing division of
Bertelsmann AG, one of the worlds leading media companies, is home to many leading
publishing divisions and imprints in the US and in the UK, where its sister company,
Random House UK Ltd., is already represented on PubEasy.com through the TBS/GBS
PubEasy.com web site.
When the Random House PubEasy.com web site goes live this summer, the
entire Random House US title file will be available to registered booksellers with a
PubEasy.com password. Booksellers who wish to receive a free PubEasy.com password simply
log on to the Internet and go to http://register.pubeasy.com. All booksellers and
distributors will be able to check price and availability, to place orders, and to track
the status of their orders twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week from anywhere over
the Internet.

countries spanning North America, Europe and Asia are using the service to access title,
price and availability information, to place orders, to check the status of their orders
and to access catalogs from participating publishers, distributors and wholesalers.
Booksellers with a PubEasy.com password can directly access any participating Affiliate
website on the network. The service is free to booksellers and is available via the
Internet twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
In the US, The Holtzbrinck Publishers PubEasy.com web site recently
launched. Other US web sites scheduled to launch include; American International
Distribution Corporation (AIDC), Broadman & Holman, Random House, and National Book
Network (the second largest US book distributor).
