Launch... The Growing Network of websites linked to VISTA's
PubEasy Internet inquiry and ordering service has grown yet
further as the Vermont-based American International Distribution
Corporation launches its own site. The site, http://pubeasy.books.aidcvt.com,
will offer customers, including Blackwell's, Baker & Taylor,
Barnes & Noble, Ingram and Amazon, the opportunity to access
the whole company's title database online and track

has been making a wave of pre-Frankfurt announcements. The
latest seems to open the online exchange on small and
medium-sized publishers, distributors, and wholesalers,
providing them with a PubEasy "store front" without
requiring a full site.

Chronicle Takes PubEasy
Street
Chronicle Books is the latest U.S. publisher to sign up with
PubEasy, the international e-commerce service that allows
booksellers to order, track orders and obtain all kinds of
information from publishers and distributors through their
PubEasy Web sites.
Chronicle plans to launch a PubEasy Web site in January. Tom
Fernald, executive director of operations and finance for
Chronicle, stated that the new site "will enable our
customers to communicate and place orders with us at all times
of the day and night, which as a San Francisco-based publisher
is an important service for us to provide--particularly to our
East Coast
customers."

PubEasy beat more than 400 contenders to win the ISI/Inter
Forum E-commerce Award for the London region. The award
recognizes and rewards companies for innovation and achievement
in the use of e-business. Publishers representing more than 70%
of the UK market are now represented on PubEasy.
