Somerset, NJ, October 11, 1999 . . . John Wiley & Sons Ltd.,
the largest European operation of John Wiley & Sons, and
PubEasy.com, the global Internet inquiry and ordering service,
announced today the launch of Wileys PubEasy.com e-commerce website
at http://pubeasy.books.wiley.co.uk.
Wiley develops, publishes and sells print and electronic media for
educational, professional, scientific, technical, medical and consumer
markets worldwide and ranks as one of the worlds top three
scientific, technical and medical publishers. Wileys areas of
specialization include architecture, business, chemistry, engineering,
finance, life and medical sciences, management, mathematics and
statistics, psychology and technology. With over 47,000 active titles
available on its database, including 16,000 Wiley books, they also
distribute for a number of prestigious American publishers, including
California, Columbia & Princeton University Press, Harvard
University Press, MIT Press, W.W. Norton, OReilly, Sybex, The
University of Chicago Press and Yale University Press.
"Joining the PubEasy.com network of Affiliates will assist in
enhancing overall customer relations with our clients," said Bob
Long, Sales and Marketing Director at Wiley. "Over 40% of our
clients are overseas, so our new PubEasy.com e-commerce website allows
us to overcome time zone difficulties and will enable clients to
perform many customer service functions, such as title, price and
availability checks and placing and tracking orders, over the Internet
at any time of the day."
"The launch of Wiley's PubEasy.com web site is a significant
enhancement for booksellers who sell professional, technical,
scientific and trade titles," said Peter F. Clifton, Chief
Executive Officer of PubEasy.com. "We are extremely pleased to
have Wiley join the PubEasy.com community. For the many booksellers
who are currently registered to PubEasy.com and do
business with Wiley, this is an important initiative in customer
self-service. We expect that because of the nature of Wiley's
publishing program, many new booksellers will obtain passwords on
PubEasy.com and that will add to the already fast growing traffic we
are seeing across all sites."
The Wiley/PubEasy.com website launch follows the recent launch of
the Gardners Books PubEasy.com website.
